Getting started

Get the mobile app

Install WarnFire on your phone, sign in with your access code, and get your first page.

The WarnFire app is how responders get paged. It shows whether you’re on call, lists your incidents, and lets you take ownership of a problem with one tap.

Sign in

You need two things from your administrator:

  • The server address — for WarnFire cloud this is https://app.warnfire.com.
  • Your personal access code — created for you on the People page. It’s shown to your administrator only once, so they’ll send it to you directly.

Then:

  1. Open the app. You’ll see Connect to WarnFire.
  2. Enter the Server address.
  3. Paste your Access code.
  4. Press Connect.

Allow notifications

When the app asks for permission to send notifications, choose Allow. This is not optional in any meaningful sense — notifications are how WarnFire reaches you when something breaks.

You can check the connection at any time: the bottom of the Settings tab shows your server and whether notifications are On.

What you’ll see

The app has three tabs:

  • Status — whether you are on call right now, who else is on call, when the next handoff happens, and a quick count of open problems.
  • Incidents — your incident inbox, newest first, with filters for things like Unacknowledged or Critical open. Tap any incident to see its full story: what happened, when, who was paged, and what changed.
  • Settings — appearance, your server connection, and Sign out.

Acknowledging an incident

When you’re paged, open the incident and press Acknowledge. That tells everyone: “I’ve got this.” Paging stops escalating to the next person.

Your phone will ask you to confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. This protects against a pocket-tap silencing a real emergency.

Acknowledging says you own the problem. It doesn’t close it — the incident stays open until the problem is fixed and resolved.

Helping out and asking for help

During an incident you may be invited to help — the invitation arrives as a notification and appears in a You’re needed section on the Status tab. You can Join incident now, promise to join In 15m / 30m / 60m, or Decline with a note.

You can also invite others from any incident: press Invite responder or team, pick a person or an on-call team, choose the kind of help you need, and explain why.
